COPPUL Shared Print Archive Network (SPAN) is a shared print program that distributes retention for committed print titles among its 20 member libraries. In the first two phases, SPAN focused on low-use, low risk print journals. The goal for these phases was space reclamation. Phase Three carried over titles from phase one and two, added government documents and high risk titles. The high risk titles include serials, monographs and government documents. Phase 4A includes 757 titles, all of which are considered low risk. Phase 4B will be statistics Canada publications. A seperate monographs projects, known as Monographs Project #1 involves members commmiting to 1 million volumes. Members are from Western Canadian University libraries.
