PAPR Terms of Service

The Print Archives Preservation Registry (PAPR) is a knowledgebase, system, and associated services developed by the Center for Research Libraries (“CRL”) to support information sharing and collection analysis in order to reduce costs, increase accessibility, and foster long-term preservation of journals for scholars and researchers. The PAPR Database contains and makes available descriptive information about individual print and digital archiving programs (the "Directory") and metadata on materials archived under those programs ("Archived Titles") provided by the participating archiving institutions ("Contributing Libraries"). Information and data compiled in the Directory and the Archived Titles are known collectively as "the Datasets" and information downloaded from Datasets known as “Reports.”

CRL will use reasonable effort to ensure that the information in PAPR is current and free of errors. However, CRL does not guarantee the accuracy or fitness for purpose of the information, and provides no warranty, express or implied, in relation to such information including:

  • text on the interface and web pages;
  • information included or referred to in any website to which a link may be provided within or along with any such data; and
  • any information contained in the Datasets or Reports from PAPR.

CRL will make reasonable efforts to ensure that data in PAPR are updated regularly and accurately. CRL and Contributing Libraries reserve the right to change the content at any time at their discretion.

CRL shall not be liable for any loss or damage incurred by users’ access to or use of PAPR, Datasets and/or Reports, including without limitation, any damage to computer hardware, data, information, or business that results from such access or use.

3. Accessing PAPR

CRL reserves the right to withdraw or amend the service provided on PAPR without notice. CRL will not be liable if for any reason PAPR is unavailable at any time or for any period. Notwithstanding the above CRL will make reasonable efforts to communicate any scheduled downtime of PAPR with at least ten (10) days notice.
